  1. Besides an education and becoming more knowledgable, I hope to become a better me a better individual as a whole. I hope the person I am four years from now is not the person I am today. My goal is to grow into an independent, responsible, and more ambitious young lady. Someone who is reliable and my siblings can look up to. Most importantly, I expect to improve in the skills needed to further my education and meet all my aspirations.

    1. Besides receiving an education and becoming more knowledgeable, I hope to become a stronger individual while studying at Kean. I aspire to be a more independent, responsible, and ambitious young lady. Most importantly, I expect to improve in the skills needed to further my education and meet all my aspirations. Specifically, I lack in communication and throughout these four years I will be forced to work with my peers. The RAM program will teach me how to exceed in the areas I struggle in. Overtime I will discover my forte and get farther in life.

  2. College is one of a kind experience in life that offers a plethora of experiences; amongst the education you are receiving. There is no telling what you may come across. You are put on a campus with an abundant amount of other students, faculty, and staff all from different walks of life that you get to come across and learn from. Here at Kean University, I see myself being given the opportunity to learn how to be independent, or more dependent on myself I should say. I am so used to being in my comfort zone for the last few years, as I was in the same school with the same people and in the same area. Where as now I am being put on a campus in a different place, with different people, and different opportunities. I am being forced to survive on my own and learning the ropes by myself. This is more of an intense process being that I am living on campus. Though it may be intense and quite intimidating of a process, I am anything but hesitant to jump in and get started to see what Kean and college in general has to offer for me. I hope to grow immensely as not only a student but also a person overall. Thanks to the RAM Program this should only be a four-year process, and after these four years I am sure the change should be more than noticeable.

  5. Besides being at school for the most important reason, fulfilling and completing my education within the intended 4 years, I also hope to experience many new things and meet plenty of great people along the way. I do wish to pledge to a sorority once I am able and also join a club or two if I have spare time in between my studies. I am very passionate about the environment so I do want to get involved with something along those lines other than my school work. Dr. Shebitz had spoken about traveling to Costa Rica for a program that has to do with the forest and trees and such so I am hoping to be able to participate in that and that may help me widen my knowledge into my major. I also want to explore the local things around campus in free time. Take a day trip to New York with friends, go shopping at Jersey Gardens and visit restaurants and theaters nearby. I'm mainly hopping to meet make life long friendships with the people I meet on campus.

  6. These four years in Kean University I hope to gain many life experiences and fundamental opportunities that will enrich me as a person. Growth is one of my main priority that I hope to obtain; such as becoming socially active, becoming a good worker and staying present. That will benefit me in the campus community, work force and my personal life. Since everyone attending university or college we will all face many different obstacles in life in our own pace, resiliency after facing many limitations is another option I choose to strive for. To never give up.

  7. Besides an education, I hope to gain lots of experience and to get to know more people. I look forward into proceeding with this program and I am honored to be included as well. In addition to being a part of this program, i hope to take advantage of the future opportunities I hope to gain from these next couple of years at Kean University. Furthermore, I strive to do my best and always set goals for myself, these next couple of years at Kean is going to be the biggest goal I have set out for myself as I am very ambitious into becoming s Physical Therapist. In conclusion, even though education is biggest mind set for me, gaining experience and meeting new people along the way is going to be an amazing adventure.

  8. Besides an education, I’m hoping to gain self-enlightenment from college. College isn’t solely based on gaining an education for yourself; rather such an important fragment of your life is filled with many life-changing opportunities. In my own personal perspective, I strongly believe that college will unravel a person’s true purpose in life. Furthermore, with such insight from experiences, one can truly foresee their capability, and self-reflect their own future. With that being said, I’m honestly hoping that I’ll have the chance to discover my true self, and foretell my own future.

  9. Besides an education, what I hope to gain while attending Kean University is unforgettable life experiences and opportunities. I want to meet new people, build relationships and be more involved with the school. Since I moved from New York, I do not really know people or really know my neighborhood and I believe studying at Kean will help me gain friends. Since I have big gaps between classes, I will be exploring the campus or even my neighborhood. It's always good to have a fresh start. I want to become an active, determined and independent woman. Just by trying to handle work and school, I'm already learning time management and responsibility. My end goal is to graduate within four years and with a bachelors degree.

  10. Besides an education, what I hope to gain from college are friends, experience in my major, and the “college experience”. College is a diverse environment which can open me to a lot of different people and cultures and new relationships. I also want to have the college experience which is to experience independence and learning how to handle school and a social life. I also want to have more experience of my major because I know that Kean is known for having an amazing teaching program and I want to take as much advantage as I can from it. Overall, I hope to gain new friendships, the “college experience”, and amazing opportunities regarding my major.

  11. Besides an education, I hope to gain social skills. Having communal understandings and interests really bring people together to form lifelong relationships. It’s very difficult during this day and age for people to hold and carry on conversations. We are so used to talking via the Internet and cell phones that people can’t properly form sentences anymore. It’s very important not only for college, but in interviews and future jobs for people to engage with other employers and companies. Students need to learn how to employ accordingly in their classes with other students or professors to gain experience for future endeavors. In summary, it’s imperative for students to obtain communication skills to build relationships, work more efficiently and increase lifelong happiness.
